I am passionate about personal growth and healing. I believe we are here to learn soul lessons and evolve to knowing our true essence, living a life with purpose and joy.
It has been through my own life experiences that I see all challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. The most difficult time in my life was a great blessing. In every situation, there is a gift.
At age 37, I felt like I was dying…physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I was not happy in my marriage and did not know how to deal with the stress. I suppressed my emotions and tried not to let things bother me…this made me very sick. I was raising four teenagers, managing a retail business, and like many mothers, had little time for myself. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. I could not sleep, my body hurt everywhere and I was completely exhausted. It was necessary to make some changes in my life.
After going through a divorce, I sold the Hallmark store and opened the General Nutrition Center. I wanted to study health and nutrition. I was determined to regain my health. I read every book I could find on Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. I did everything that was suggested except yoga. There was no place in the area to learn yoga. I felt guided to go to a 30 day teacher training at Ananda in California. By the third week, I started to feel energy moving in my body. I thought, “that’s what they’re talking about…energy…I could feel it,” I was healing and feeling better each day.
I began teaching yoga in 1999 at the Bonifas Art Center and Serenity House in Escanaba. I started to feel more energized and peaceful as I taught, and students began telling me how much it was helping them relax, cope with stress and feel more centered in their lives. They also notice less body pain and felt happier. I loved teaching, meeting new friends and sharing the healing benefits of yoga.
I was soon introduced to Carol Lampman and Breath Therapy. I had never experience a teacher with so much compassion and will forever be grateful for her love and guidance. She taught me how to forgive, love myself and listen to my heart…this transformed my life. I learned to connect with my inner child, heal the false beliefs that were affecting my life, let go of suppressed emotions and the pain in my body. Each time I would breathe, I was amazed at the changes that were happening quickly in my body and in my life. I love this process because it really works. l continued to study and assist Carol in breath trainnings for 15 years.
In 2005, I began teaching in my home studio. I offer weekly yoga classes, sound therapy, breath workshops and individual sessions. I feel honored and blessed to share what has been my path to healing. I am grateful to have a sacred space and meet amazing people wanting to experience yoga and breathwork as a path to healing.
I have healed my pain and continue a daily practice of yoga, meditation and breathwork to stay connected to my body, Spirit and the wisdom within. I love to breathe, laugh, dance, read inspirational and spiritual books. I enjoy the beauty of nature and love to be out walking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and collecting stones. I love uplifting music and sound healing. I feel incredible peace playing my gongs, singing bowls, drums and much more. I also enjoy massage, aromatherapy and guided imagery.
My life is now filled with gratitude. I am married and blessed with 11 beautiful grandchildren to hug… they make me smile and appreciate life. I am grateful for my family and friends, students and teachers. I am grateful that the most difficult time in my life has connected me to my life purpose of teaching and supporting others as they heal and create a life of joy and peace. I am grateful just to BREATHE!
Yoga and Breathwork have transformed my life from one of pain and fatigue to a life of joy and gratitude. I would be honored to support you on this sacred, inner journey.
